At Arnhem, we are strong believers that conscious is the new back & we are so excited to be on our journey toward sustainability. 

After growing up in a tipi in the hills of Byron Bay, living beautifully, simply & low impact, founder Arnhem Bickley’s love of the planet shines through in everything we do today, with people, process & production at the heart of every decision. Arnhem began her innovative label by breathing new life into up cycled vintage pieces, growing from a one woman team to a team of 15 passionate and dedicated staff members. With this growth came an awareness of the detrimental effect that the global clothing and textiles industry has on our natural environment. Refusing to be complicit in this unnecessary harm to mother nature Arnhem set about revolutionising each and every aspect of the business in pursuit of social, ethical and environmental sustainability.

Collectively our team feels a strong sense of purpose & plays an integral role in fulfilling the brands vision of sustainability. This has been such a key factor in the outcome & success of Azalea, so many passionate people working toward the same goal. 

 Azalea apparel has been produced from our own unique mix of sustainable Botanical Fibres, TENCEL® & Viscose by Lenzing AG. Both fibres are made from the renewable raw material wood, a responsible and sustainable source ~ biodegradable by nature. The miracle is that there is absolutely no compromise on the product you have come to know & love; AZALEA is more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen, boasting a beautiful drape. 

Azalea swim is also an incredibly proud moment, being made from Econyl Nylon, 100% regenerated pre & post consumer waste. Waste like discarded plastic, fishing net & fabric offcuts, destined for landfill or to spend years wreaking havoc on wildlife in our oceans, is instead processed into superior quality Nylon so we can bring you conscious swimwear.

As ocean lovers, we couldn’t be happier to produce our swimwear from Econyl, both from the perspective of quality & environmental impact. And guess what?! Econyl fibres when tested in real life conditions proved to be twice as resistant to chlorine, suntan creams and oils when compared to other generic swim fabrics. These amazing results are achieved thanks to Econyl's innovative fibre construction, so you’ll be enjoying the ocean for many summers to come in our gorgeous sustainable AZALEA swimwear.

You can also be sure that when you invest in a conscious piece of clothing, you’re also investing in environmentally friendly packaging & labelling, including shipping cartons, swing tickets, bar codes & tissue paper which are all FSC certified. This significant certification guarantees a product has been made from a responsible source, shining a light on the supply chain & ensuring such standards are met from start to finish.
