Born Of Love ~ a Q&A With Jinti Fell

We are all born of love.

In celebration of powerful mothers & future mum’s to be we talk to one of our favourite unique, strong women Jinti Fell
about being free to lead a nomadic lifestyle & maintaining a sense of childlike wonder as a family.

YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF DISCOVERING AND GOING AFTER YOUR DEEPEST DESIRES.
BUT WITH OUR BUSY LIVES AND SO MANY OPTIONS, FIGURING OUT WHAT OUR DEEPEST DESIRES ARE CAN BE DIFFICULT.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR HOW WE CAN LISTEN TO OUR INTUITION AND UNCOVER OUR TRUEST DESIRES?

I remember being so overwhelmed from a really young age about who I was and what I “should” do with my life.
It was during my mid- 20’s that I began to pay more attention to my never-ending thoughts and finding time each day to quieten them - through yoga and meditation.
I think it’s from that place of silence and stillness that we can listen to our desires and begin trusting our own internal compass.

AN OVERARCHING THEME OF YOURS SEEMS TO BE THE IDEA THAT OUR MINDSET IS KEY IN CREATING A LIFE YOU LOVE.
DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR HOW TO CULTIVATE A MINDSET THAT LEADS TO LIFE OF CONTENTMENT?

Developing the awareness that consciously directing and shaping your thoughts is a practise and personal growth is a commitment!
Prioritise learning about yourself, set aside time every day to read, write, meditate (even if it’s 10minutes!) Then take what you learn and integrate it into your day.
I really believe that having an intentional morning routine is the foundation of a joyous life!

YOU’VE SAID THAT AYA WAS THE KEY INSPIRER FOR TAKING UP THIS NOMADIC LIFE.
WHAT WAS IT ABOUT PARENTHOOD THAT INSPIRED YOU TO MAKE THE CHANGE?

Becoming a mother I quickly noticed how much my daughter imitated My behaviour. It didn’t so much matter what I said - she was watching all that I did.
I started realising that if I wanted her to follow her dreams in life, then the greatest thing I could do to encourage that was to follow my own dreams and lead by example.
Leaving jobs we didn’t find fulfilling, simplifying our lives and raising our daughter together whilst we travelled the world was a dream of mine and I feel it was my daughter that lead us to taking the leap.

WE LOVE THE WAY YOU REFERENCE LOOKING AT YOUR KIDS AS YOUR TEACHERS, WHAT HAS BEEN A STAND-OUT LESSON?

Seeing how present, curious and creative my children are has totally made me see the magic in the little things all around us - like I’m seeing the world for the first time, again.
They have shown me that we are born into this world full of pure love and that we can, even as adults return to that state.

YOU’VE TALKED A LOT ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING A SENSE OF CHILDLIKE WONDER.
HOW DO YOU CULTIVATE THAT SPIRIT IN YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE AND WHAT DOES IT DO FOR YOU?

Spending more time in nature - the coast, mountains, rivers, your backyard - it doesn’t matter. Just being outside clears my mind and gets creativity flowing.
But I also think that when you really pay attention in life and be present it’s impossible not to be awed by how miraculous life really is!
